1. Eligiability Criteria
An applicant must be a permanent resident of India and the minimum age should be 18 or above.
2. Documents Required
Some essential documents required to apply for a new voter id card online are given below.
a) Identity Proof:-
Aadhar card, Pan card, Driving License, Indian Passport, Bank passbook with a photograph, SSLC certificate, and Student Id card.
b) Age Proof:-
Aadhar card, pan card, Marksheet of class X, Driving License, Indian Passport, Birth Certificate, etc.
c) Address Proof:-
Bank passbook, Ration Card, Driving License, Indian Passport, Latest Water/Telephone/Electricity/Gas connection bill, Postal department,s post received/delivered in the applicant,s name at the given address, and Latest rental agreement.
3. Application Fee
No application fee is required to apply for a new voter id card. It’s totally free of cost. No need to pay anything to anyone.
4. How To Apply
Before starting the application process, you must ensure that you fulfill all the eligibility criteria and have all the essential documents mentioned above.
Now open any browser on your mobile/laptop and search for the official website of the National Voter Service Portal (NVSP):- www.nvsp.in

This type of page will appear on your screen. Now click on Login/Register button as shown in the picture.
This type of form will appear on your screen where we will be asked for a user id and password but as you are applying for the first time you have to click on I don,t have an account register as a new user. After that, a form will appear on your screen. where we will be asked to enter your mobile number and click on send OTP.
Now an OTP will be sent to your given mobile number now enter the top received on the mobile phone and click on verify OTP. After successful verification of OTP, a registration form will appear on your screen.
Now enter all the required detail as shown on the form such as first name, last name email id. Now you have to create a new password and re-enter the password to confirm it. (remember the password must be a minimum of 8 characters and a maximum of 20 characters long and it should contain a number, letter, and special characters). Now click on the register button.
A popup window confirms that you are registered successfully. and it will automatically redirect back to the login page.
Here you have to provide your username and password and fill in the captcha and click on the login button.
Now you are logged in. On the left side of the home page click on the first option Register as a new voter.
Form 6 will appear on your screen. at first, you have to choose the state, district, and constituency assembly from the dropdown menu and proceed to the personal details.
In this section, you have to enter your first name, surname, name and surname of the relative of the applicant also fill in all the details in the regional language. Now select the type of relation and enter the mobile number, email id, and aadhara number in the given box and select the gender of the applicant and proceed to the date of birth details.
In this section, you have to enter the date of birth of the applicant in the given format. Now you have to upload a self-attested copy of the document supporting age proof for that first select the document you want to upload and then upload the scanned copy of that document. Now move on to address details.
In this section, you have to enter your full address details such as house number, street name, village, post office, tahasil, and pin code. Now you have to upload a self attest copy of the address proof.
if you have any disability then tic on the right box otherwise leave it blank. you can also give the details of any of your family member who is already included in the electro roll at the current address you can also leave it blank as it is not mandatory.
Now coming to the declaration part you have to enter the village name, select the state and district from the dropdown menu and enter the date.
now enter the place name and captcha and click on the preview and submit button. a preview of the application is shown to you to verify the details and click on submit button.
now you have submitted the application successfully a reference number will be displayed at the end note it down for future reference to track the application process.
